Pet Wellness and Vaccinations

At Dublin Veterinary Hospital, we are dedicated and committed to your pet's ongoing wellness. By bringing your furry pal in for regular checkups, you'll protect them from many common ailments that can affect companion animals. We'll also have the opportunity to identify or address any potential health problems.

At each visit, our doctor will examine your pet from nose to tail, as well as developing and implementing a custom preventative care plan tailored to your pet's specific needs.

Wellness visits also let us get a regular snapshot of your pet's health. These scheduled visits allow us to identify any signs of illness early and, if necessary, begin treatment as soon as possible. Annual visits also give us the chance to get to know you and your pet, developing a relationship that will make going to the vet a more positive experience.

Allergies and Dermatology

There are many different ailments that can affect your companion animal's skin. Whether it's a rash, an infection or something else, the symptoms are always unpleasant. Don't let your pet suffer! Take them to Dublin Veterinary Hospital for our professional pet allergy and dermatology services.

First, we will diagnose the problem and identify the precise condition, thanks to our in-house laboratory. Next, we will develop a custom treatment plan specifically for your pet to achieve the best possible results. This may require a topical cream or potentially a combination of different treatment methods.

Allergies can require more work to manage, potentially through lifestyle changes such as switching foods.

Nutrition and Weight Management

The topics of pet nutrition and weight control can be confusing, which is why Dublin Veterinary Hospital is here to offer guidance. Our staff is highly knowledgeable when it comes to identifying the unique nutritional needs of pets. We'll assess your cat or dog to determine exactly which food is right for them, including how much and how often they should be fed. Our practice recommends pet food from Royal Canin and Hill's.

An unhealthy weight for a pet can potentially shorten their life span. At Dublin Veterinary Hospital, we can determine the ideal weight range for your pet and develop a plan to achieve that goal. With proper diet, exercise and calorie control, we'll have your pet at a comfortable weight in no time!

Your pet's nutritional and weight control needs will inevitably change over the years. At certain stages in their life, we'll evaluate our plan and make any adjustments as necessary.

Pet Dentistry

If your pet has bad breath, it's a sign they may need professional dental care. Left untreated, dental issues can lead to a number of serious health problems and potentially even shorten your pet's life. We provide routine preventative dental care to keep any plaque or tartar at bay. Advanced treatment for existing oral conditions is available as well.

Contact our locally owned practice today to schedule an annual dental exam or cleaning. Our dental services include the use of safe, effective anesthetic and constant monitoring for patient safety. We'll also work closely with you to make sure your pet's teeth are healthy and clean all year round. We recommend you brush your pet's teeth at least three times a week, if not on a daily basis.

Diagnostic Services

If your pet has been acting unusual, an illness or injury may be the cause. Here at Dublin Veterinary Hospital, we rely on diagnostics to determine what may be wrong with your pet's health. By getting a complete picture of your pet's condition, we can diagnose and treat any health problems in a timely manner.

Our hospital has an on-site diagnostic laboratory, making it easy for us to run a variety of tests. We can often have the results for you within minutes. The ability to run blood work, urinalysis and other tests in-house is invaluable in critical cases. Lab work is also available for routine health screenings as part of your pet's regular wellness care.

Advanced imaging services, such as X-rays and ultrasounds, are also available. This allows us to look inside your pet's body at their bones and internal organs to better identify any ailments, injuries or illnesses.

Pet Surgery

Our team will always go above and beyond to ensure any surgical procedure at our clinic is as stress-free as possible, both for you and your pet. The process begins with a pre-operative screening to prepare for any potential concerns and reduce possible complications. We'll also develop a plan to keep your pal comfortable and pain-free throughout the entire process.

Once your pet is safely sedated, our team will complete the surgery as efficiently as possible. Our staff will be on-hand at all times, assisting our doctor and closely monitoring your pet's well-being. We use the latest medical equipment to track your companion's vital signs.

When surgery is complete, your pet will be relocated to our quiet, safe recovery area. You'll be given comprehensive aftercare instructions to ensure your pal recovers quickly and comfortably.

Making House Calls

If you cannot bring your pet to our clinic, either because they are too sick, do not like going to the vet or cannot schedule a good time, there's no need to stress. We offer house calls as part of our animal health care services.

Save time and energy thanks to our convenient house call services. Your animal will receive one-on-one vet care in the comfort of your home, where they will most feel at ease. If you have multiple pets, you won't have to worry about transporting them to and from our location.

House calls are available for annual visits, including physical exams and vaccinations. Diagnostic testing, such as blood work, can also be gathered during the house call, then brought back to our in-house lab for analysis.

Hospice Care

Is your pet suffering from a chronic illness that is diminishing their quality of life? Do you have an elderly pet clearly struggling with pain or a terminal illness? Dublin Veterinary Hospital offers hospice end-of-life care to reduce pain and suffering of your beloved friend. Our compassionate staff members are true animal lovers who will treat you and your pet with the utmost compassion and dignity.
